The idea behind alternate picking is very simple, all you do is alternate the direction of your picking with every note.

In other words up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-.....and so on.

Here are a few exercises to get you on the right direction.

Note: You will NEVER be so awesome that these exercises won't help you. If you think they're too easy, just play em faster!!
